Sonja Lockyer

Sonja Lockyer is a highly skilled and intuitive massage therapist, reflexologist, and yoga instructor based in Poole, New Zealand. With a deep passion for supporting individuals on their journey towards embodied presence and feminine empowerment, Sonja offers a range of practises and therapies to nurture the mind, body, and soul.

With a background in biodynamic yoga and meditation, Sonja is committed to helping individuals rediscover and reclaim their inner wisdom and intelligence. She believes in the innate goodness within all of us and strives to support each person's journey back home to that truth. Sonja shares her knowledge and experience through Qoya Inspired Movement for women, shamanic biodynamic yoga, and meditation practises rooted in the Tibetan Buddhist feminine traditions.

In addition to her expertise in yoga and meditation, Sonja is currently training to become a psychotherapist. She is undertaking a Post Graduate Diploma in Core Process Psychotherapy at the Karuna Institute. This additional knowledge and understanding of the mind-body connexion allows Sonja to offer profoundly healing biodynamic bodywork from her home in Poole.

Sonja's bodywork sessions are deeply restorative and healing, combining techniques from aromatherapy, touch therapy, and emergent holding. She creates a safe and nurturing space where individuals can drop into a deep reconnection with their innate health and wisdom within the body. Sonja acknowledges the healing power of plants and creates co-regulating fields of nature, breath, and loving kindness to support natural balance and flow.

In addition to bodywork, Sonja also offers reflexology, a practise that stimulates certain areas of the feet, hands, and ears to promote relaxation and healing throughout the entire body. Through her skilful touch and intuitive understanding of the body, Sonja helps individuals release tension, improve circulation, and enhance their overall well-being.

Sonja's yoga classes are a unique blend of grounding, sensation, and curiosity, inviting participants to step into the feminine essence of yoga. Drawing on her deep knowledge and study of yoga, bodywork, and psychotherapy, her classes are suitable for women, men, and young adults. Sonja also offers Qoya Inspired Movement classes, a feminine movement modality that focuses on finding the sweet nectar of movement as medicine within the body. These classes offer a transformative and liberating experience as participants dance home to their essential selves.
