With classes catered to different age groups, SOTA Reading ensures that every dancer feels at home. For our younger enthusiasts aged 3-6, we have the SOTA SEEDS & SAPPHIRES class. This class introduces children to the world of song, dance, and drama, fostering their creativity, improving coordination, and exploring the joy of performance. Modern Theatre Dance is also incorporated into this class, with the opportunity for able pupils to take the ISTD Grade 1 Modern Exam.
For our older dancers aged 7-18, the SOTA School provides an extensive three-hour session of dance, singing, drama, and musical theatre. Our classes inspire creative expression, enhance performance skills, and develop technique. The session kicks off with a limber and stretch session, followed by workshops in dance, singing, and drama. Students work in age groups, rotating between workshops to explore and hone their talents.
At SOTA School, we take pride in providing our students with a wide range of challenging performance opportunities. From end-of-term presentations and drama festivals to shows at the renowned Wilde Theatre in Bracknell and even annual performances on a West End stage, we aim to take our dancers to new heights.
For those looking to pursue an acting career, the SOTA ACTING ACADEMY is the place to be. Designed for 7-16 year olds, our comprehensive curriculum ignites creativity and builds acting prowess. With highly skilled and industry professional Acting Teachers, students engage in improvisation, script work, audition techniques, screen acting, stage combat, and production techniques. The academy also offers opportunities for students to showcase their talent in plays, commercials, and short films created with our professional team.
It's worth mentioning that numerous students from SOTA Reading have gone on to perform in professional film, TV, and theatre productions, including notable works like Disney's The Little Mermaid, Fantastic Beasts, DC's Justice League, Harry Potter, and the Star Wars franchise.
