South Coast Equestrian, located in Weymouth, is a horse riding school, horse trainer, and stable. Owned by OM Holidays Ltd, a diverse rural business, South Coast Equestrian offers top-notch facilities and services for horse lovers of all levels.
The yard at South Coast Equestrian features American barn style stabling, providing convenience and comfort during all weather conditions. The stables are well-lit and equipped with a kitchen, toilets, locked tack room, sitting room, and alarm system for added security. Each stable has its own outdoor storage space, and there is an additional container for extra storage. Horse owners have the option to use SCE's barn stored hay/haylage and straw at cost, or bring their own supplies.
The yard also has a communal feed room and a muck trailer that is emptied regularly for convenience.
South Coast Equestrian boasts exceptional indoor and outdoor arenas. The outdoor arena measures 25m × 58m and has a sand and rubber surface. It is regularly maintained and graded to provide an optimal riding experience. The enclosed indoor arena measures 23m × 42m and has recently been upgraded with a sand and soft fibre surface.
It features a standing viewing gallery for spectators to enjoy the action. Both arenas are well-equipped with a wide range of portable show jumps, including fillers, trays, pickets, and dressage boards.
In addition to the arenas, South Coast Equestrian is fortunate to have an adjacent cross-country schooling facility, owned by Steph Geran. While SCE no longer owns the XC course, livery users have special arrangements to utilise the course. Others can book with Steph Geran directly to make use of the 30-acre facility. Steph Geran, who previously owned SCE, retains her own business teaching and coaching in the two arenas.
The team at South Coast Equestrian consists of knowledgeable and experienced individuals who are passionate about horses. Yard manager Bec Drummond, who has been with the yard from the start, takes care of the day-to-day running of the stable. She has extensive experience in showjumping and showing, regularly competing her own and clients' horses. Admin Manager Karen Kennedy, who previously worked in a racing yard, now manages the Touring Park and handles all administrative tasks.
