Southern River Stars

Southern River Stars is a sports club located in Perth, Western Australia. The club is affiliated with Southern River College, a renowned educational institution known for its dedication to inspiring students to achieve their full potential.

The vision of Southern River Stars is to encourage every child to excel in their chosen field, whether it be academics, art, music, or sport. The club boasts dedicated teachers, advanced facilities, and progressive educational philosophies that cultivate an environment where knowledge can thrive.

Southern River Stars is proud to have produced successful individuals who have achieved greatness in various fields. These include Graham Thom, a recipient of the Beazley Medal, Shawn McSorely, an ATAR extraordinaire with a remarkable score of 98. 8, Taya Parfitt, the Young Australian Artist of the Year, Phil Walley-Stack, a nominee for West Australian of the Year, Darren Reid, a local Perth musician, Matthew Phillips, an Associate Lecturer at Curtin Uni, Stefan Petriwskyj, an Immunology Lab Assistant at FSH, and Tenuun Sanjaadorj, a Revenue Analyst.

The club offers a range of pathways and programmes to cater to the diverse interests and aspirations of its members. Academically-inclined individuals can participate in the STEM programme, which focuses on Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics. Southern River Stars also boasts one of the best robotics programmes in the state.

For those passionate about the arts, the club provides opportunities in various art forms, including digital art design, drama, media arts, and visual arts. The club has been recognised at both state and national levels for its excellence in the arts.

Southern River Stars offers specialised Inspire Programmes, including Academic, Music, Netball, Soccer, and Volleyball. These programmes provide a platform for members to develop their skills and excel in their chosen sports.

The club regularly updates its social media pages with the latest news and events. Recent posts include showcases of student work in woodwork and a photography competition featuring students and their pets with books. Southern River Stars also hosts performances and workshops, such as “The Bold, The Young & The Murdered” and the SmArts Programme delivered by North Metropolitan TAFE.

In addition to its sports programmes, Southern River Stars also runs a P&C Christmas Raffle to engage with the community and foster a sense of camaraderie among its members.
