Archery enthusiast in Stoke-on-Trent, look no further than South Moorlands Archery Club. Founded in 1983, this friendly and informal club welcomes archers of all ages, sexes, and abilities. With around twenty-five members, there is a sense of community and support that makes South Moorlands Archery Club a great place to learn and grow in the sport.
Located at The Cheadle Academy (formerly Cheadle High School), the club provides a home for archers to practise and improve their skills. The club has the necessary equipment and facilities to accommodate even more members, so newcomers are always welcome. Whether you aspire to shoot at the Olympics, enter national competitions, or simply enjoy archery as a recreational activity, South Moorlands Archery Club can support you on your journey.
The club boasts three qualified coaches who, along with several experienced members, are always willing to offer guidance and advice to both new and old members alike. Their expertise ensures that archers receive the necessary instruction and support to improve their technique and reach their goals. Additionally, South Moorlands Archery Club is affiliated with Archery GB through Staffordshire County Archery Association, and members are fully insured through Archery GB.
For those interested in getting started with archery, the club offers beginner courses throughout the year. These courses, which last six weeks, provide the necessary training and safety instruction for beginners to shoot unsupervised. The current fee for the course is 50 per person (senior and junior), and all equipment is provided. To inquire about the dates of the next course, prospective archers can contact the club.
If you're unsure about committing to a beginners course but still want to try archery, South Moorlands Archery Club offers “have a go” taster sessions. For just 5 per person, participants can experience a 90-minute archery session. These sessions are run based on demand, so interested individuals should contact the club in advance to book a spot.
Additionally, if you're looking to organise a group activity or a unique event, South Moorlands Archery Club can facilitate a group “have a go” session for up to 30 people. With basic coaching on barebow technique and engaging archery games, this session is perfect for team-building or special occasions. Contact the club for more information on organising a group session.
To become a member of South Moorlands Archery Club, archers must join Archery GB for insurance purposes. Membership fees can be paid either through the club or directly to Archery GB. Once a member, archers can choose to pay a visitors fee each time they shoot or become a full member of the club.
Join South Moorlands Archery Club in Stoke-on-Trent and embark on a fulfilling archery journey with a supportive community and excellent facilities.
