Spotlight UK, established in April 2009, has always been close to Paul's heart. Located in Basingstoke, this charity has grown from offering low-cost activities to an organisation providing comprehensive support across Hampshire, Berkshire, Oxfordshire, Surrey, and London to children and young people.
Paul first aimed to boost the confidence and self-esteem of local youth through fun, engaging activities. Over time, the mission expanded to include emotional and practical support. One of Paul's standout efforts has been the Sponsor A Child programme, where for just £4 each week, sponsors help improve a child's confidence, mental health, and social skills.
Another project Paul is incredibly passionate about is the Youth Ambassador Programme. This initiative empowers young people to drive positive change in their communities around issues they're passionate about.
Launched in 2022, the Show A Little Love programme is another fantastic effort. Paul and his team collect items to create care packages for children in need, ensuring love and kindness reach every corner of the community.
Paul's efforts don't stop there. During the Christmas season, Spotlight UK runs toy drives, hamper distributions, and stocking deliveries to the elderly, making sure the true spirit of giving is felt by everyone.
Recognising the importance of family bonding, Paul organises Family Days Out, planning activities like bowling, paddleboarding, and visits to attractions such as Chessington and Four Kingdoms.
Spotlight UK also supports young carers through the Young Carers Network, helping youngsters up to 25 who look after family members with various challenges.
Through these diverse programmes, Paul has worked tirelessly to improve the lives of children and young people in Basingstoke and beyond. With the unwavering support of a dedicated team, volunteers, and the local community, Paul's vision continues to make a significant impact.
