The history of the Spryfield Lions Rink dates back to 1969 when the Spryfield Lions Club proposed the idea of building an indoor ice skating rink. After several years of planning and construction, the rink officially opened to the public on November 27, 1972. Over the years, the facility has undergone many upgrades and renovations to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for all users.
Today, the Spryfield Lions Rink and Recreation Centre boasts a full-size ice rink, six change rooms, a canteen, and a skate sharpening shop. The facility also features a gym, multipurpose room, and meeting/party rooms available for rental. Whether you're looking to lace up your skates for a public skating session, book the ice for a game with friends, or host a special event in one of the meeting rooms, the Spryfield Lions Rink has something for everyone.
Managed by the Spryfield Lions Rink and Recreation Society, a group of dedicated volunteers from the community, the facility continues to be a hub of activity and camaraderie for Spryfield residents.
