Squad Volleyball Club is a dynamic and inclusive volleyball club based in London, United Kingdom. The club is dedicated to promoting personal and team volleyball skills for all its members, creating a diverse and multicultural community.
Becoming a member of Squad Volleyball Club is an opportunity to take your volleyball skills to the next level and compete at a competitive level. Prospective members are required to have their individual skills assessed by the club's coach, who will determine the appropriate team and level for each player. Tryout sessions are held before the start of the season, but if a player is unable to attend, they can be invited to a team training session for assessment. As a Squad member, you will have access to a wide range of volleyball-related activities and social sessions.
Squad Volleyball Club has achieved significant success over the past 8 years, consolidating five teams in the Volleyball London League. The teams are divided into advanced (top League), upper-intermediate (Division 1), and intermediate (Division 2) levels. The club has recently entered two teams in the National Cup and Shield. In addition to competitive play, Squad Volleyball Club also offers social sessions and themed tournaments for members to enjoy.
The London Volleyball League, in which Squad Volleyball Club participates, consists of three tiers – premier League, Division 1, and Division 2. Each tier has both a men's and women's division, providing opportunities for players of all gender identities to compete.
The club's teams train at Bacon's College, and the preseason typically starts in late August, with the league season commencing in September and running until the end of April.
For those who prefer a more casual and social approach to volleyball, Squad Volleyball Club also runs regular social sessions and themed tournaments. There are Sunday Meetup advanced social volleyball sessions, where players can enjoy the sport in a relaxed and friendly environment. Additionally, Squad, in collaboration with Volleyball Blue, organises skills-focused development sessions led by coach Priscila Alves. Members can also participate in various fun and themed tournaments held throughout the season.
Squad Volleyball Club prides itself on being a diverse and inclusive community that not only aims to develop volleyball skills but also fosters friendships and connexions.
