Stagecoach Performing Arts Ashford is a renowned performing arts group and dance school located in Ashford, New Zealand. With a warm and welcoming atmosphere, Stagecoach offers quality part-time training in the performing arts for children aged 4 to 18 years. The dedicated team aims to nurture and develop young potential through singing, dancing, and acting classes.
At Stagecoach, the focus is on stretching young imaginations, building confidence, fostering new friendships, and equipping children with skills for life. The school firmly believes that the whole world is a stage, and the skills acquired at Stagecoach provide a solid foundation to help students succeed in school, university, and future careers.
The school offers a range of weekly classes tailored to different age groups. For children aged 4 to 6 years, the Early Stages classes run alongside the main Stagecoach schools. In these classes, young people learn skills in singing, dancing, and drama, preparing them for the next stage of their performing arts journey.
Main Stages classes are available for children aged 6 to 18 years and are split into three age-appropriate groups. In these classes, students have the opportunity to learn new skills in singing, dancing, and drama. Stagecoach caters to all students, nurturing those who are shy and apprehensive until they find their voice, while also challenging those with natural talent, confidence, and energy.
For students aged 15 years and above, Stagecoach offers Further Stages, which are advanced musical theatre sessions designed to extend performance skills. Through in-depth training and master classes, students are given the opportunity to refine their singing, dancing, and acting abilities. Further Stages also prepares students for auditions and interviews with theatre companies or vocational drama schools, if that is their goal.
Stagecoach takes pride in its team of experienced and passionate instructors. All members of the team have valid Enhanced DBS checks, ensuring the safety and peace of mind of every student.
In addition to weekly classes, Stagecoach offers holiday workshops and opportunities for students to take Musical Theatre Exams, from beginner to advanced grades. The advanced grades offer valuable UCAS points for further education. Stagecoach students consistently achieve high marks, with 100% of students gaining Merits or Distinctions in 2023.
Stagecoach has a strong presence on social media platforms like Facebook, where they regularly share news, updates, and videos of student performances. The school also has an active noticeboard to keep students and parents informed about upcoming events and important information.
The dedication and commitment of Stagecoach Ashford have not gone unnoticed. The school has received an “Outstanding” rating in its latest inspection report.
