Stagecoach Performing Arts Beverley is a performing arts group and dance school located in Beverley, New Zealand. The school offers high-quality part-time training in the performing arts for children aged 4 to 18 years. With a focus on nurturing and developing young potential, Stagecoach offers singing, acting, and dance classes that stretch young imaginations, build confidence, and promote life skills – all while having fun in a safe and supportive environment.
Stagecoach Beverley is proud to offer weekly classes for children aged 4–6 years, as well as those aged 6–18 years and 15+. The Early Stages classes run alongside the main Stagecoach schools, introducing young people to skills in each of the three disciplines of musical theatre – singing, dancing, and drama. This creates an easy transition for students as they progress to the next stage. Each class runs for 90 minutes and takes place at Longcroft School and Sixth Form College in Beverley.
The Main Stages classes are split into three age-appropriate groups, providing young people with the opportunity to learn new skills in singing, dancing, and drama. The classes aim to nurture even the most shy and apprehensive students while also challenging those with exceptional talent and energy. With three hours of lessons each week, students have ample time to develop their abilities and discover their potential.
For students aged 15 and above, Stagecoach offers Further Stages classes that focus on advanced musical theatre training. These sessions give talented students the chance to hone their skills in singing, dancing, and acting, while also providing guidance and preparation for auditions at theatre and vocational drama schools.
The team at Stagecoach Performing Arts Beverley prioritises the safety and well-being of the students. All members of the teaching staff have undergone Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) checks to ensure a safe learning environment.
Led by Principal Nick Plummer-Walsh, the Stagecoach team is highly experienced and dedicated to providing the best possible training for students. Nick's passion for drama and music goes back to his childhood, and he has accumulated extensive qualifications and experience in the performing arts. With a teaching diploma from Trinity College, London, as well as training in musical theatre from the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Arts (LAMDA), Nick is committed to helping students reach their full potential.
In addition to regular classes, Stagecoach Beverley also offers holiday workshops, providing students with the opportunity to further explore their talents and develop their skills during school breaks.
