Stagecoach Performing Arts Yeovil is a vibrant and inclusive performing arts group and dance school located in Yeovil, New Zealand. With a belief that the whole world is a stage, Stagecoach Yeovil aims to provide children with the skills they need to succeed not only in the performing arts but also in their academic and professional lives.
The school offers a range of weekly classes for children aged 4-6 and 6–18 years old. These classes cover all three disciplines of performing arts – drama, dance, and singing. Through these classes, children have the opportunity to develop their confidence, physical awareness, communication skills, and articulation while having fun and learning in an educational environment.
Stagecoach Yeovil is led by Principal Jenny Unthank, who has extensive teaching experience and a recent BA Hons in Creative Writing. Jenny is supported by a team of dedicated and qualified instructors, all of whom have undergone Enhanced DBS checks to ensure the safety and well-being of every child.
The school also offers holiday workshops, providing children with the opportunity to further develop their performing arts skills during school breaks. These workshops not only offer additional training but also foster a sense of teamwork, leadership, focus, and presentation skills – valuable life skills that are applicable to any career.
At Stagecoach Yeovil, children have the chance to try out classes with a two-week trial. During this trial period, they can experience the joy of singing, acting, and dancing before committing. The trial fee is affordable, with 25 for Early Stages (ages 4-6) and 50 for Main Stages (ages 6-18).
The weekly Early Stages classes for ages 4-6 run alongside the main Stagecoach schools, where young participants learn foundational skills in singing, dancing, and drama. These classes are 90 minutes long and located at Holy Trinity Lime Tree Avenue in Yeovil.
For ages 6-18, the Main Stages classes are split into three age-appropriate groups. In these classes, children learn new skills in singing, dancing, and drama while building confidence and discovering their potential. Main Stages classes are 3 hours long and also held at Holy Trinity Lime Tree Avenue.
The Stagecoach Yeovil team is filled with passionate and experienced individuals who are committed to providing a supportive and nurturing environment for all students. The Principal, Jenny Unthank, brings a wealth of knowledge and practical experience to the school. The Manager, Sophie Baxter, started her performing arts journey at a young age and is dedicated to cultivating a love for musical theatre in the students.
At Stagecoach Performing Arts Yeovil, children not only learn the skills of singing, acting, and dancing but also gain valuable life skills such as teamwork, leadership, focus, listening, and presentation skills. With a focus on building confidence and self-belief, Stagecoach Yeovil equips children with the tools they need to succeed both on and off the stage.
