Welcome to Stainborough Cricket Club, a renowned cricket club established in 1859 in Barnsley. With a rich history spanning over 164 years, Stainborough Cricket Club embodies the spirit of a quintessential village cricket club. Nestled in a picturesque landscape, the club offers not only breathtaking views but also exceptional facilities, competitive cricket, and a vibrant social scene.

To reach our club, simply take the road through the Strafford Arms car park to the right of the pub, leading to our ground. Ample parking space is available next to our pavilion for your convenience. During the season, which runs on weekends, our licenced bar will be open from lunchtime to the evening, providing a warm and welcoming atmosphere for members, players, families, and guests.

At Stainborough Cricket Club, we value appropriate behaviour and respect on our premises. We kindly request all visitors to familiarise themselves with our Code of Conduct, which can be viewed or downloaded from our website. Your cooperation and adherence to the code are greatly appreciated.

As we enter winter, we would like to extend our warm wishes for a joyful and merry Christmas to all our members, supporters, players, and their families. Though it was a challenging season, our Saturday team played their matches with determination. In our last game on September 16th, we unfortunately suffered a defeat against Whitley Bridge. However, there were notable performances, such as Paul Brown's rapid 43 and Syed Haidar's excellent bowling, who took all 4 wickets to fall at a cost of just 16 runs. We commend the efforts of all our players and acknowledge the work that lies ahead as we prepare for the next season in division 3.

On Sunday, September 17th, our Stainborough CC Ladies team will be participating in the South Yorkshire Softball League division 1 finals day at Elsecar CC. They will be competing against teams like Eckington, Hatfield Town, Millhouses, Worsbrough Bridge, and Tickhill. As defending champions of this competition, we hope our ladies can retain the title. Good luck to the team!

Our ladies also recently played an end of season friendly against Cawthorne Cobras, resulting in a thrilling match. Stainborough posted their highest score of the season so far, with notable contributions from Beth Baker and Leah White. Cawthorne, unfortunately, couldn't match the score and finished on 199. Congratulations to our ladies for their achievements this season, finishing in a creditable 3rd equal position in the South Yorkshire Softball League division 1 and earning promotion in their debut 2022 season.
