Stamford Skatepark

The history of Stamford Skatepark dates back to May 2008 when the old wooden ramps located in the Rec' became worn out from heavy usage. Despite the efforts of a small group of volunteers, the ramps could not be maintained due to financial constraints, resulting in their demolition by the District Council. Unfortunately, the council did not replace them, prompting a group of passionate individuals to take matters into their own hands.

Determined to provide Stamford with a new skatepark, the community embarked on a project to secure funding and support for the construction of a brand new facility. Although the journey was filled with challenges and hurdles, the group persevered, ultimately succeeding in building an impressive concrete skatepark for the town. The completion of the park showcases the dedication and passion of the skateboarding community in Stamford.
