Stamper Dance and Theatre Arts, located in Barnsley, NZ, is a renowned dance school offering a wide range of singing, dancing, and acting classes and workshops to children of all ages. Founded in 2006 by Rachael Stamper (LLCM, LIDTA), the school has been dedicated to providing high-quality dance and theatre education to its students.
In schools, Stamper Dance offers classes and workshops from the foundation stage to A-level, ensuring that the sessions align with the National Curriculum requirements. These sessions not only focus on teaching performing arts skills but also aim to improve the students' confidence, fitness, and coordination.
Stamper Dance also extends its services beyond school hours, offering exciting classes, workshops, and fun days during school holidays for children starting from 3 years old. These classes provide children with an opportunity to stay fit, learn new skills, and enhance their confidence, coordination, and social skills.
The school prides itself on delivering sessions that go above and beyond the national curriculum requirements, ensuring that students receive a well-rounded education in the theatre arts. Additionally, children have the chance to participate in various shows and displays throughout the year, as well as optional IDTA examinations.
Stamper Dance understands the importance of learning through musical theatre and offers sessions in schools to introduce pupils to this unique learning experience. With a qualified dance and musical theatre teacher at the helm, the school delivers sessions tailored to the current class topics, such as The Blitz, Life in Chembakoli Rivers, The Romans, and many more. These sessions can be used for PPA cover, producing performances for the school, choreographing routines for competitions, or delivering dance sessions that meet or exceed the national curriculum requirements.
Besides the regular classes, Stamper Dance offers a variety of after-school clubs and morning/lunchtime clubs, including street dance, hip hop, bollywood, Irish dancing, modern jazz, cheerleading, singing, acting, gymnastics, and drama. These clubs serve as an excellent way for children to explore their interests and further develop their skills in a fun and supportive environment.
All classes and sessions at Stamper Dance are designed to meet the requirements of the National Curriculum and incorporate cross-curricular links where possible. The school takes pride in its commitment to delivering high-quality education while making it engaging and enjoyable for students.
Stamper Dance operates on Mondays, with the Mini Movers class held at Emmanuel Methodist Church on Huddersfield Road. Led by Miss Rachael and Miss Rachel, this class is open to children aged 3-6 and offers a combination of dance, singing, acting, rhythm, and the use of musical instruments, parachutes, and bubbles.
Stamper Dance is dedicated to providing a nurturing and inclusive environment for students to learn and grow in the world of dance and theatre arts. With a highly qualified and passionate team of teachers, the school aims to inspire and empower children to discover their potential while having a great time along the way.
