St. Peter's Church Bowling Club

An annual fee for its use. St. Peter's Church Bowling Club, located in Shipley, is known as “the friendly club” and welcomes both visitors and new members.

The club plays social bowls from late March to September or October, depending on the weather. Members can participate in bowling activities from Monday to Sunday, starting at 1 pm. The club promotes friendly matches with other teams in the area, rather than participating in leagues. Everyone is encouraged to join in the competitions and play friendly matches.

During the summer months, the club enjoys playing bowls on the green. For newcomers, there is plenty of advice and help available to get started. Members of all skill levels are welcome, and beginners can play alongside experienced bowlers in afternoon sessions.

In the winter months, the club offers additional activities such as snooker or table tennis. These activities take place in the rooms at St. Peter's Church, and separate fees apply.

St. Peter's Bowling Club organises various social events throughout the year, including a fish and chip supper, a Christmas coffee morning in the Club House, and a Christmas presentation meal.

The club's location boasts a tranquil setting perfect for a relaxing game of bowls. After a match, members can unwind in the clubhouse and enjoy a cup of tea.

Membership details, including fees, are decided at the Annual General Meeting (A. G. M. ).

To join the club, interested individuals can complete a membership application form, available from the secretary. Visitors are also welcome to come and see the club, and they may use spare “woods” during their visit. Visitors are asked to pay a fee of 3 per visit, with a limit of three visits.
