The Strathalbyn Outdoor Pool – YMCA is a popular recreation and aquatics centre located in the heart of Strathalbyn, South Australia. Situated on Dawson Street and Colman Terrace, the pool is conveniently located opposite the Strathalbyn Library and offers stunning views of the River Angas and picturesque gardens.

The pool's opening times vary depending on the season. During the off-peak season (16 October – 17 December 2023 and 29 January – 14 April 2024), lap swimming is available from Monday to Friday between 6:00am and 8:30am, and general admission is open from 3:00pm to 7:00pm. On weekends and public holidays, lap swimming is available from 7:00am to 9:00am, and general admission is open from 9:00am to 5:00pm.
In the peak season (18 December 2023 – 28 January 2024), the pool extends its opening hours. Lap swimming is available Monday to Friday from 6:00am to 8:30am, and general admission is open from 8:30am to 7:00pm. On weekends, lap swimming is available from 7:00am to 9:00am, and general admission is open from 9:00am to 6:00pm.
It's worth noting that the pool is closed on Christmas Day, New Year's Day, and Good Friday. The opening times may also be subject to change according to attendance or weather conditions. On particularly hot days, the pool may extend its opening hours if the temperature reaches 32 degrees or above in Strathalbyn at 5:30pm, at the discretion of management. Any changes to opening hours will be communicated through the centre's social media platforms.
Admission prices are reasonable, with adult swim passes priced at $7. 80 and concession/child passes available for $6. 20. Spectators can enter for just $2.
50, while children aged 3 and under can enter for free. For frequent visitors, season passes are available at $250 for adults, $200 for concessions/children, and $390 for families. To ensure the safety and enjoyment of all visitors, the pool enforces certain conditions of entry. Children under 10 years old must be accompanied and constantly supervised by an adult, while children under 5 years old must be accompanied in the water and remain within arm's reach. Unsupervised children of any age will be removed from the water if the lifeguard has concerns for their safety. General rough play and unsociable behaviour are not permitted due to safety concerns, and visitors must follow staff directions at all times.
Failure to comply may result in eviction from the centre.
The YMCA welcomes visitors to capture their magical moments on camera or video, respecting the privacy of others. However, the use of cameras and video cameras in the change room areas is strictly prohibited.
