St. Saviours Olympic Boxing Academy

St. Saviours Olympic Boxing Academy, located in the historic Old Dorset Street Fire Station in Dublin 1, is set to re-open its doors on Monday, 13th June 2011. The clubhouse, originally built in 1901, has undergone a 650,000 refurbishment to transform it into a state-of-the-art boxing gymnasium. Thanks to the support of Dublin City Council, the National Lottery, and the Department of Tourism, Culture and Sport, the club now boasts top-notch facilities and ample space to cater to more young people from the North Inner City.

Under the leadership of Thomas Ahern, Secretary of St. Saviours, the vision for the club is to produce the next generation of boxing champions who can compete on a National and International level. With a rich history of producing boxing legends such as Stephen Collins and Darren Sutherland, the club is committed to providing a nurturing and supportive environment for its young members to reach their full potential.

The re-opening ceremony will be graced by the presence of President of Ireland, Mary McAleese, who will join in celebrating this significant achievement. St. Saviours Olympic Boxing Academy has received funding and support from various organisations to make this refurbishment possible and is looking forward to welcoming more aspiring boxers from the local community.
