Studio 42 Performing Arts

Are a great introduction to the world of dance. We offer Introduction to Dance classes for children aged 5–7 years and 8–10 years. In these classes, students will learn the basics of ballet, jazz, and creative movement. It is a fun and interactive way for children to explore their creativity and develop fundamental dance skills.

TAP Tap dancing is a form of dance characterised by the use of rhythmical tapping sounds made by metal plates attached to the dancer's shoes. At Studio 42, we offer tap classes for a range of age groups, including juniors, intermediates, seniors, and adults. These classes are suitable for beginners and experienced tappers alike, allowing students to develop their rhythm, coordination, and musicality.

BASIC BALLET Basic Ballet classes are designed for students who want to learn the foundational techniques and principles of classical ballet. These classes focus on developing strength, flexibility, and grace through a variety of exercises and dance combinations. Basic Ballet classes are open to students of all ages and levels, from beginners to advanced.

ADULT CLASSES At Studio 42, we believe that dance is for everyone, regardless of age or experience. That's why we offer a range of adult classes for those who want to learn or revisit the art of dance. Our adult classes include Tap, Jazz, Contemporary, and Musical Theatre. These classes are taught by experienced instructors who cater to all levels, from beginners to advanced dancers.

OUR LOCATION Studio 42 is located in the Shirley/Richmond area of Christchurch, New Zealand. Our spacious and well-equipped studio provides a comfortable and inspiring environment for dancers of all ages. With ample parking and easy access to public transportation, our location is convenient for students and parents.
