About

Offers a range of programs and activities for individuals of all skill levels and ages. From youth sprint racing to sea kayaking, windsurfing, stand-up paddleboarding, canoeing, and dragon boating, there is something for everyone at the Sudbury Canoe Club. The club provides all necessary equipment for its programs and participates in various regattas and races throughout the season.

The Sudbury Canoe Club, located at 206 Ramsey Lake Road in Sudbury, has a rich history dating back to 1902 when it was first established as the Sudbury Boating Club. Over the years, the club has produced competitive paddlers who have medaled at national and international levels. Today, the club continues to promote water sports in the Sudbury community and hosts events such as the annual Marathon Canoe Race and the Sudbury Dragon Boat Festival.

The Sudbury Canoe Club is a volunteer-driven organization that relies on the dedication of its members and supporters. The club offers a variety of membership options for individuals and families, with fees kept to a minimum to ensure accessibility for all. New members are asked to demonstrate proficiency in using the equipment, but lessons are available for those who need assistance. Members are also welcome to bring guests for a daily fee, with safety being a top priority.

The club's board of executive officers includes Commodore Steve Volpini, Treasurer Alyne Lalonde, Vice-Commodore Aaron Hutchings, Secretary Ian McIvor, and Youth Member-at-Large Mateo Volpini. Together, they oversee the operations and activities of the Sudbury Canoe Club and work to provide a safe and enjoyable experience for all members.

Whether you're looking to try a new water sport, improve your skills, or compete in races, the Sudbury Canoe Club offers everything you require for affordable and safe access to Lake Ramsey. Join us today and experience the beauty of paddling in Greater Sudbury!
