Founded in 1991 by David Melham, a former professional player, the club aims to introduce and develop football skills in boys and girls aged 4–13 years, regardless of their abilities. The main focus is on creating a safe and friendly environment where children can learn and have fun. All coaches at SFCC are fully qualified by the Football Association and have undergone DBS checks, as well as holding safeguarding and first aid qualifications. They are passionate about coaching and dedicated to helping children improve their skills and meet new friends.

The club offers various programmes and activities, including school clubs, Saturday clubs, holiday clubs, and birthday parties. In addition to regular coaching sessions, SFCC also provides advanced training for Academy level players. Over the years, SFCC has expanded its services to include teaching in schools, both during lunchtime and after school, as well as nursery clubs and PE lessons. The club's founder, David Melham, has over 35 years of experience in coaching and is committed to ensuring that every child who participates in SFCC sessions leaves with new skills and a smile on their face.
