Swansea District Aikido takes great pride in providing a welcoming and inclusive environment for practitioners of all levels. Our experienced instructors are passionate about teaching the art of Aikido and promoting both physical and mental well-being. Whether you are a complete beginner or have previous martial arts experience, you will find a supportive community at our club.
Aikido is not just about physical techniques, it also emphasises mindfulness and self-awareness. Through Aikido training, practitioners develop a deeper understanding of their own bodies, minds, and emotions, allowing them to respond effectively and harmoniously in difficult situations. The principles of Aikido can be applied both on and off the mat, resulting in personal growth and improved interpersonal relationships.
At Swansea District Aikido, we offer regular training sessions on Tuesdays from 6:30 pm to 9:00 pm. The cost for a single session is 8, with a discounted rate of 5 for students, health workers, and jobseekers. We also have a monthly enrolment day on the first Tuesday of every month, where new students can join and receive their first month of training for free. To enrol, simply complete the enrolment form available on our website.
In addition to our regular training sessions, we also organise courses and events throughout the year to further enhance our members' understanding and practise of Aikido. These include seminars, workshops, and guest instructor sessions. We also have a blog and virtual dojo, where members can access additional resources, instructional videos, and discussions related to Aikido.
Swansea District Aikido is affiliated with the national and international Aikido community and follows the teachings of O Sensei Morihei Ueshiba. Our club has a strong emphasis on providing high-quality instruction and maintaining the integrity of Aikido as a martial art and philosophy. Instructors at our club have undergone extensive training and are certified to teach Aikido.
Our club's logo, known as the Club Kamon, represents the unity and spirit of Swansea District Aikido. It is a symbolic representation of the harmonious ideals of Aikido and reflects the values and principles we uphold in our practise.
