World of Swimming is excited to announce upcoming swimming teacher training courses for individuals who are passionate about swimming and enjoy working with children. With over 1,500 teachers already trained, World of Swimming offers a rewarding part-time job opportunity with flexible working hours.
Accredited by various governing bodies, our training courses are conducted by fully qualified, insured, and CRB checked tutors. Since 2005, Wessex Swim School has been successfully training swimming teachers.
Among the upcoming courses, we have the STA Safety Award for Teachers – Lifesaving course, the STA Level 2 Award course, and the STA Level 2 Certificate course. These courses are highly recommended for swimming teachers, aqua aerobic instructors, and school teachers who wish to acquire the necessary qualifications to provide safety cover during swimming sessions. Participants will learn essential skills in basic rescue, first aid, and resuscitation techniques.
In addition to these courses, we also offer the STA Award in Teaching Swimming course, which serves as an introduction to swimming teaching. This course focuses on assessing the fundamental essentials of teaching and is assessed by the STA – Swimming Teachers Association. Successful completion of this course enables individuals to teach non-swimmers and help them progress to improver stages.
To become fully qualified as a swimming teacher, we highly recommend completing the STA Safety Award and the STA Level 2 Award before attending the STA Level 2 Certificate course. The STA Level 2 Certificate course equips teachers with the skills necessary to confidently teach pupils of all levels without supervision.
