Sydney Forr Dance is a vibrant and inclusive dance school located in Redfern, a suburb in the City of Sydney. Established in September 2015 by three passionate Forr lovers, this community was created with the intention of spreading the love of Forr throughout Sydney. Forr is a music and dance style that originated from the northeast region of Brazil and combines elements of European ballroom dances and Caribbean dances.
At Sydney Forr Dance, the aim is to engage locals, visitors, and wanderers alike, and to share values of respect, tolerance, patience, love, harmony, and awareness through the medium of Forr. The school welcomes individuals from all social and cultural backgrounds, regardless of religion, sexual orientation, or disability. This commitment to inclusivity has helped to establish a strong and diverse community in Sydney, with over 60 regular weekly students and hundreds of occasional guests.
The school offers free dance classes throughout the city, providing an opportunity for individuals to explore the challenges and benefits that dance and community can bring.
