Table tennis enthusiasts in Western Downs Regional, brace yourselves for an exciting event coming up! The Dalby Table Tennis Association Inc., a prominent and well-established table tennis club in the area, is thrilled to announce an upcoming local table tennis event that is sure to capture the attention of passionate players.
This past week, the table tennis scene experienced a rather quiet spell, as many players battled the notorious cold and flu season. However, amidst this temporary lull, one double match managed to unfold, while various singles games sadly had to be forfeited. Nevertheless, the club remains resilient and steadfast in its commitment to providing a platform for players to engage in the beloved sport.
Just last week, the club had the honour of hosting a visit from a true table tennis legend. Paul Pinkewich, a former Australian TT champion, took it upon himself to visit an astonishing six schools in the area. His aim was to promote the sport and ignite a fiery passion for table tennis within the younger generations. Armed with the club's trusty robot, he wowed over 300 children with an exhilarating table tennis experience. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the schools that eagerly participated in this exciting endeavour. Among them were Bowenville, Quinalow, Jimbour, Jandowae, and Cecil Plains State Schools, as well as Chinchilla State High school. This fantastic initiative was made possible by the generous support of the Qld state government Get Started program.
