At Tai Chi Chuan in Edenbridge, the mind, body, and soul are brought into balance through the practise of Tai Chi. The studio is located at Jade Cottage, The Limes in Edenbridge, Kent, and offers a unique blend of music and wellness services.
The studio is run by a qualified instructor who teaches and facilitates Piano, Bassoon, Theory, and Tai Chi Chuan. The instructor is also trained in Sound Therapy and Reiki Healing, providing a holistic approach to wellness.
Music is considered an extremely important art at Tai Chi Chuan. It is believed to feed on the universal fire that all life depends on. Students at the studio are given the opportunity to perform, building confidence in all aspects of life. Lessons are tailored to suit individual learning styles and interests.
Both adults and children are welcome to learn Piano and Bassoon at the studio.
When it comes to Tai Chi Chuan, the practise is seen as beneficial in everyday life, especially during times of illness and stress. Everyone is welcome to practise Tai Chi, regardless of age or ability. The classes at the studio cater to beginners, intermediate, and advanced levels. The classes consist of Chi Gung breathing exercises, standing Chi Gung, stretching exercises, and the Tai Chi Foundation form of Master John Ding.
More experienced students are introduced to the Traditional Long Form and work on posture testing and the application of the moves.
Tai Chi Chuan promotes balance and harmony within the body, allowing the body's internal energy to flow freely and benefit the organs, blood, bones, and lymphatic system. The practise connects individuals with their deepest selves, enriching the mind and invigorating the body.
Tai Chi Chuan classes are held on Wednesdays, with separate sessions for beginners and experienced practitioners. The studio recommends arriving 10 minutes early to enjoy a cup of Jasmine Tea before the class. Participants are advised to wear comfortable clothing and flat shoes or slippers.
In addition to the focus on music and Tai Chi, the studio embraces the concept of a kaleidoscope. Just like a kaleidoscope creates colourful patterns through the reflection of light, the studio believes that life is made up of many facets and colours. The instructor finds beauty in nature, whether it's sitting by a pond, watching a waterfall, observing fish, witnessing a rose bloom, or seeing a bird build a nest. These experiences reflect the energy of life and can make individuals feel good.
At Tai Chi Chuan, the goal is to open eyes and hearts to the beauty and interconnectedness of life. The studio believes that we are all one and aims to help individuals realise this on a deeper level.
