With a commitment to teaching the science of boxing and not just the violence, Tameside Elite Boxing Academy has been established for 11 years, with the owner having 36 years of experience in the sport since 1980.
As an England boxing academy, they provide comprehensive training in both boxing and fitness, focusing on technique, skill development, strength and conditioning, and cardiovascular fitness. Their programmes are suitable for individuals aged 4 years and above, with no age limit.
The academy is also known for their expertise in boxing and fitness in schools, with over 10 years of experience. They have a strong commitment to equal opportunities and have an anti-bullying policy in place.
All the coaches at Tameside Elite Boxing Academy are England boxing coaches and undergo regular DBS checks, previously known as CRB checks, ensuring the safety and professionalism of their training sessions.
The academy operates as a non-profit organisation and always welcomes sponsorship to support their programmes. They also offer personal training sessions upon request, outside of regular gym times.
Tameside Elite Boxing Academy has a diverse schedule of classes throughout the week. On Mondays, they offer sessions for 4-9 year olds, 10-14 year olds, and 15+ year olds. The fees for these sessions are 3 per session or 10 per week, paid on Mondays. Saturdays are also included in the weekly fees.
Tuesday evenings are dedicated to circuit training for carded boxers, and Wednesdays offer sessions for juniors and seniors. Thursday evenings feature a ladies-only class called “Box Fast Blast” for overall body toning and fitness. Fridays follow a similar schedule to Mondays, and Saturdays offer an open session for all participants at a fee of 3.
In addition to their main location in Stalybridge, Tameside Elite Boxing Academy offers sessions at Gamesley Boxing Club, Gamesley Community Centre, Melandra Castle Road, Gamesley, Glossop, Derbyshire, SK13 6UQ on Tuesdays and Thursdays for infants, juniors, intermediates, and seniors.
