Once you've had a few sessions under your belt, we do expect our new members to have reached a reasonable standard.
However, if our club doesn't quite meet your specific needs, don't worry! We can always guide you towards some suitable alternative options. We want to make sure you find the perfect fit for your badminton journey.
At Tasburgh Badminton, we use feather shuttles for both our club nights and matches. We believe this provides the best playing experience for all our members. Additionally, we also welcome guests to join us for a limited period of time. And here's the best part: if you decide to become a club member after six sessions as a guest, any money you've already paid will be credited towards your membership fee. Talk about a win-win!
Speaking of membership fees, let's break it down for you. For a full 12 months of badminton at Tasburgh, the fee is £175 for individuals in full employment, and £130 for those in full-time education. Now, if you happen to join us mid-season, no worries! We'll calculate a pro rata fee to ensure fairness.
It's important to note that Tasburgh Badminton Club operates as a non-profit organisation. A portion of the membership fee goes towards our affiliation fees, while the rest covers expenses such as court rentals, shuttles, and insurance. We strive to keep our club running smoothly and sustainably.
One of the great things about our club is that playing in matches is entirely up to each individual member. We understand that not everyone wants to partake in competitive play, and that's absolutely fine. Our team selections usually take place in August/September, so if you're joining us mid-season, you may need to wait until the next season to get involved in matches. However, with multiple teams in the league, we make sure that every member, new or old, has a fair chance to play and enjoy the sport.
