Taste of Paddling

Burley Griffin Canoe Club is gearing up to host their 'Taste of Paddling' sessions this October, and it's the perfect opportunity for beginners to dip their toes into the exciting world of paddling. If you've always been curious about getting out on the water but haven't taken the leap just yet, this is your chance!

During these sessions, participants will get hands-on experience with different types of boats, gear up on essential equipment info, work on their boat handling skills, and practice entry and exit techniques. Not to mention, they'll also get the lowdown on basic paddling techniques and capsize procedures to keep things safe and fun.

Just a heads up, it's recommended that you have a basic swimming ability of being able to swim 50 meters. Safety first, right? The sessions will be held on the calm waters of the Molonglo River, creating the perfect environment for beginners to feel comfortable and secure as they learn the ropes.
