LRYSA is excited to announce the upcoming Mayor's Trophy Regatta Series! This fantastic sailing event, held annually from April to September, brings together sailors from our local community in Leicestershire and Rutland.
Now, let's talk about the incredible trophies up for grabs! The Mayor's Trophy, generously donated by the Mayor of Nuneaton & Bedworth and Hinckley & Bosworth, will be awarded to the winning novice sailor. It's a great opportunity for those new to sailing to showcase their skills and take home a prestigious prize.
In memory of the passionate sailor Matthew Fulham, who tragically lost his life in the Egypt terrorist bombing in July 2005, we have the Matthew Fulham Memorial Trophy. This trophy will be presented to the winning advanced sailor. It's a fitting tribute to a sailor who will always be remembered for his love and dedication to the sport.
But wait, there's more! Besides these main trophies, we also have smaller trophies waiting to be awarded to the top three sailors in both the novice and advanced categories at each regatta. It's a chance for even more sailors to be recognised for their exceptional performance throughout the series.
