

Progress. Sessions are designed to be fun, safe, and educational, providing a positive introduction to bodyboarding and the ocean. All equipment is provided, and participants are encouraged to bring their own if preferred. Rash shirts are provided for sun protection.
The Bodyboard Academy is led by Lilly Pollard, a six-time Australian champion and the 2014 Pipeline Pro Hawaii APB World Tour champion. With over 20 years of bodyboarding experience, Lilly is dedicated to sharing her expertise and passion for the sport with others. She offers personalised coaching for individuals of all ages and abilities, ensuring that each session is tailored to meet the specific needs of the participant.
Private coaching is available for those looking to take their bodyboarding skills to the next level. In these one-on-one sessions, riders will learn about surf awareness, equipment introduction and advice, paddling, duck diving, trimming, and hand and body positioning. Advanced moves such as cutbacks, 360s, rollos, inverts, ARS, barrel riding, and aerial moves will also be introduced as riders progress.
Families and small groups can also book coaching sessions with Lilly. These sessions are a great way for friends and family to learn and bond together. The location for each session will be chosen based on the participants' ability and requires, ensuring that the best possible location is selected for a fun and rewarding experience.
For kids aged 5–17 years, the Wave Ninjas programme is available during school holidays. These sessions are designed to introduce children to bodyboarding in a safe and enjoyable environment. The sessions cover surf awareness, bodyboard equipment introduction and advice, paddling, duck diving, kicking effectively with flippers, and learning how to trim across the face of the wave with correct hand and body positioning. Advanced moves will be introduced to the kids as they progress.
The Bodyboard Academy values fun, friendliness, safety, information, progressiveness, personalisation, and environmental consciousness. All coaching sessions are guaranteed to provide a positive and rewarding experience. All necessary equipment is provided, including sunscreen, wetsuits, fins, bodyboards, and wax. Participants are encouraged to bring their own equipment if desired.
