Katie Durant, the founder of The Dance School, is an experienced and accomplished dance professional. She trained at the renowned Italia Conti Academy of Performing Arts, gaining qualifications including the Italia Conti National Diploma in Performing Arts, as well as advanced levels in Ballet, Tap, and Modern. Katie has also worked professionally, participating in performances such as The Children's Royal Variety Performance and the play “Ghost from a Perfect Place” by acclaimed playwright Phillip Ridley.
After gaining her professional experience, Katie turned her focus to teaching and established The Dance School in 2003. She is proud of the achievements of the school and its pupils, including excellent pass rates in ISTD and IDTA exams. The Dance School has produced several successful theatre shows throughout the years, showcasing the talents of its students. Katie has also choreographed pieces for prestigious venues such as Rochester Cathedral, Her Majesty's Theatre, and Sadler's Wells.
