The Gabrielle Rowley School of Dancing, nestled in North London, has been a hub for ballet and tap enthusiasts for over 75 years. This iconic school in Muswell Hill has remained in its current location for more than five decades, nurturing the talents of countless dancers.
Founded by Miss Gabrielle Rowley, a protégé of Phyllis Bedells and Tamara Karsavina, the school has always been driven by a deep passion for dance. In 1995, the school’s leadership was passed to Tamara Murray, a distinguished former pupil with expertise in ballet, tap, modern, and jazz. Tamara's experience extends to teaching roles across London and a significant position in the Dance Department at City Lit in Covent Garden.
Now, Tamara Murray, alongside Miss Kerry West, continues to inspire the next generation of dancers at The Gabrielle Rowley School of Dancing. Miss West also brings her talents from freelancing with other schools, enriching the learning experience for all students.
The school offers Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) ballet classes for children aged three and up, introducing the youngest dancers to ballet basics and guiding older students through structured RAD examinations. Tap dance classes are available for both children and adults, focusing on rhythm and movement in a lively setting.
The studio space at Gabrielle Rowley is welcoming and professional, staffed by friendly, fully qualified teachers. The school provides flexible options, including pay-as-you-go ballet classes for three and four-year-olds and term-based classes for older children. New students can enjoy a free trial lesson and a 20% discount on their first term’s fees.
For the latest updates and term dates, check out the school's social media or contact them directly. Tamara and her dedicated team look forward to welcoming new students and continuing the legacy of The Gabrielle Rowley School of Dancing.
