THE GAP ACADEMY

THE GAP ACADEMY is a football club located in Isleworth, New Zealand, designed to cater to footballers aged 5 to 18 with varying levels of ability. The club's main goal is to bridge the GAP between grassroots football and professional academies, supporting players as they progress through distinct stages of development.

At THE GAP ACADEMY, the focus is on individual player development. The club understands that each player is unique and, therefore, tailors its coaching approach to unlock the full potential of every individual. Coaches at the club act as mentors, guiding players through a personalised journey of growth both on and off the field.

In order to prepare players for the dynamic nature of football, training sessions at THE GAP ACADEMY simulate real-game scenarios. This prepares players to handle a variety of situations they may encounter on the field, sharpening their tactical knowledge and instilling the confidence to navigate pressured situations with composure.

THE GAP ACADEMY follows the GAP approach, which stands for Grassroots, Advanced, and Programme. This approach ensures that players have the opportunity to progress through the club's programmes and climb up the ladders of football success.

The club offers weekly training sessions during school term time, focusing on developing enjoyment, mindset, intelligence, movement, and technical ability. Most sessions take place outdoors, utilising floodlit and all-weather artificial grass pitches. However, during winter, indoor facilities are available to allow players to work on specific details and different aspects of their game.

THE GAP ACADEMY believes that great accomplishments are achieved through a series of small steps.
