About
Join the Hampshire Harriers! Founded in 1980, the club's vibrant community welcomes everyone, whether you have a disability or not. Based in Southampton at the Oasis Academy Mayfield, the Harriers are primarily a wheelchair basketball team, aiming to boost confidence, life skills, and purpose.
Welcoming both physically disabled and able-bodied individuals, the club invites family and friends to play together, no matter their abilities. With a diverse range of members from ages 11 to 70+, there's a spot for everyone. 🏀
Steve, our friendly and experienced coach, leads the team. Some of our coaches have even represented Great Britain in the Paralympics! We’ve got two competitive teams that play in regional and national leagues, plus local derbies and friendly matches.
During training, we mix things up with High-Intensity Interval Training (HIIT) to build strength, stamina, and chair agility, promoting overall fitness and wellbeing. 💪
The Hampshire Harriers are more than just a sports club. We aim to inspire and support each other, creating lasting friendships and a lively support network. It's a place to be yourself, have fun, and forget your worries.
Interested in joining? Whether as a player, volunteer, or donor, your support means the world to us. Contact us to get involved and make a difference! 🙌
