Welcome to The Happy Chakra Yoga and Meditation Studio, located on Bay Street in Tweed Heads Coolangatta. At The Happy Chakra, we are dedicated to helping you begin your yoga journey with us. We believe in creating a welcoming and judgement-free space, where all are encouraged to practise with a beginner's mind.
Our yoga style is best described as a general hatha style, influenced by various wellness techniques. In addition to physical postures (asanas), our classes also incorporate philosophy, meditation, pranayama breath control, and the yogic personal and social code of ethics known as the yoga sutras. We honour the traditional teachings of the 8 limbs of wisdom passed down from Patanjali, emphasising that yoga is not just about asana practise but also about meditation, breath control, and ethical living.
Classes at The Happy Chakra are taught in a relaxed and fluid manner. Our experienced teachers lead with love and kindness, incorporating the spiritual element of yoga into each class. While yoga is known for its physical benefits of increased fitness and flexibility, we believe it offers so much more. Many practitioners find relief from various health issues, while others experience a sense of peace, calm, and a stress-free mind.
However, attaining these benefits takes practise and a conscious effort, both on and off the mat.
Yoga is a lifestyle that requires determination and discipline, extending beyond the physical practise. We encourage our students to cultivate patience and resilience on and off the mat, leading to equanimity and a cool calmness that lightens the heart and energises the body.
