About
Longbow Archery Club, based in Birkenhead, Wirral, Merseyside, is the brainchild of dedicated organiser John Smith. Focusing exclusively on traditional archery, the club specialises in English Longbow, American Flatbow, Hunter recurve, and horsebows, maintaining strong ties with The Longbow Shop. Modern Olympic recurve and compound bows have no place here.
John Smith has fostered an inclusive environment, welcoming male and female archers of all ages. Members regularly compete in Archery GB indoor and outdoor tournaments, and senior archers often represent the club in winter Cheshire leagues. With four Archery GB qualified coaches on board, members receive expert guidance.
Beyond Archery GB affiliation, many members also engage with societies like the National Field Archery Society (NFAS), English War Bow Society (EWBS), and British Long Bow Society (BLBS), enriching their traditional archery experience.
The club hosts a variety of events and competitions, including Metric Clout, Imperial Clout, Two Way Clout, Traditional Clout, and Field Shoot to the Marks, providing platforms for members to showcase and refine their skills.
With a close-knit community of passionate traditional archers, Longbow Archery Club, under John Smith’s leadership, extends a warm invitation to both seasoned archers and beginners alike. Join them in celebrating the art of traditional archery.
