The Nicola Farcas School of Ballet, located in Dublin, is a prestigious ballet school known for its commitment to excellence and high-quality dance training. Established in 2006 at Riversdale Tennis Club in Glasnevin, the school later moved to Santry Community Resource Centre before finally opening its own dedicated dance studio in Santry Hall Industrial Estate in 2016. A second branch was established in Balbriggan in 2008, with classes held at the Flemington Community Centre.
The school prides itself on its dedication to providing top-notch training to students of all levels. Whether a student wants to dance as a hobby or pursue a professional career in ballet, they are encouraged to work to the best of their abilities to reach their full potential. The school follows the English system, specifically the Imperial Society for Teachers of Dance (ISTD), for its examinations. However, classes also incorporate elements from the Russian system to help students exceed the boundaries of a syllabus and prepare them for auditions, show work, and masterclasses.
Examinations are typically held every second year, with a grand school show taking place in alternate years. This structure ensures that each student is continually working towards a goal and allows them to showcase their hard work and progress. The school has seen high levels of Distinctions achieved by its dancers during examination sessions, showcasing the dedication and talent of its students.
The Nicola Farcas School of Ballet is proud to have many students selected to be part of the Irish National Youth Ballet (INYB) company through a rigorous audition process. Students from all over Ireland audition for a spot in the company, and the school is thrilled to have had members in INYB for many years. The school's success in producing skilled dancers who go on to excel in prestigious ballet companies is a testament to its exceptional training and commitment to excellence.
