The Pauline Quirke Academy of Performing Arts Brentwood is a renowned performing arts group and dance school located in Brentwood, New Zealand. Operating out of Becket Keys C of E School, PQA Brentwood offers a wide range of classes for children and young adults in Comedy & Drama, Musical Theatre (singing & dancing), and Film & Television.
The academy follows the PQA “serious fun” philosophy, which emphasises the importance of enjoyment while learning. The dedicated and professional team of teachers, all of whom are working actors, actresses, choreographers, singers, and film directors/producers, strive to create a positive and fun-filled environment for students. They believe that seeing students have a great time while achieving their personal goals, gaining confidence, and developing life skills is a truly rewarding experience.
PQA Brentwood unfortunately does not offer PQA Poppets classes for children aged 4 to 6.
The academy operates on Saturdays from 2:30 PM to 5:30 PM. It can be found at Becket Keys C of E School, Sawyer Hall Lane, Brentwood, CM15 9DA. For further inquiries, contact Stephen Hawke at stephen. hawke@pqacademy.

The Brentwood team consists of talented individuals who are passionate about performing arts education. Joseph specialises in Film & TV and Screen Acting, Fiona is the Front of House Manager, Lucy is an Academy Assistant, Stephen Hawke is the Principal, Lori specialises in Musical Theatre, and Lucy focuses on Comedy & Drama.
The academy offers various modules, such as Musical Theatre, where students learn singing, dancing, and acting; Film & Television, which provides the largest platform for Film and Television education in the UK for under-18s; and Comedy & Drama, where students gain knowledge of theatrical forms.
In addition to these modules, PQA Brentwood offers added benefits to its students. In the event of national or local lockdowns, bad weather, pandemics, or venue unavailability, the academy continues its classes through PQA Live, a virtual platform. Students also have the opportunity to perform at top West End theatres, participate in RSL PQA qualifications, attend masterclasses conducted by industry professionals, and be a part of showcases held twice a year, which can be attended by family and friends.
Join the Pauline Quirke Academy of Performing Arts Brentwood and let your child explore their talents, gain confidence, and have fun while learning in a supportive and nurturing environment.
