And more! The Pauline Quirke Academy of Performing Arts Derby (PQA Derby) offers a wide range of classes and opportunities for children and young adults in Littleover and the surrounding areas. Situated at Derby Moor Academy, our vibrant and energetic Academy provides a nurturing and inclusive environment where students can explore their creativity and develop their performing arts skills.

At PQA Derby, we offer classes in Comedy & Drama (acting), Musical Theatre (singing and dancing), and Film & Television (filmmaking). Our experienced and dedicated team of industry professionals guide students through a structured curriculum, teaching them essential performance techniques and helping them to build confidence and self-expression.

Both our morning and afternoon Academies are bustling and successful, offering a range of exciting experiences and opportunities for our students. We are immensely proud of our award-winning Academy, having received three awards in the Northern Film Festival 2018, and two of the four main awards in the Birmingham Film Festival in November 2021. Our students have also had the incredible opportunity to perform in London's West End at the Her Majestys Theatre, where they showcased their talents in the musical comedy 'Troubles A Brewin'. The performance was met with rave reviews and was truly a day to remember.

Throughout the years, our Academies have enjoyed a variety of masterclasses and workshops in areas such as SFX makeup, stage combat, circus skills, children's TV presenting, and acting for the camera. We believe in providing our students with diverse and enriching experiences that broaden their horizons and deepen their understanding of the performing arts industry. Additionally, our students have had the privilege of appearing alongside renowned actors Martin Kemp and Bradley Walsh in 'Peter Pan' at the Birmingham arena, as well as collaborating with the popular vocal group G4 during their 'Christmas by Candlelight' tour.

To showcase their hard work and talent, we organise special 'Show and Tell' performances, where parents and guardians can see firsthand what our students have been working on. We also celebrate our students' achievements through our highly anticipated red carpet events, where their films are screened on the big screen, and they receive recognition and accolades for their outstanding efforts.

Moreover, our students benefit from our very own Quirky Kidz agency, through which they have gained auditions and secured roles in various projects. We are constantly exploring new and exciting opportunities in the film, theatre, and music industries, providing our students with avenues to showcase their skills and pursue their dreams.
