The Tiffany School Of Dance

The Tiffany School of Dance, located in Darlington, is a professional dance school offering a variety of classes for children and adults. Established in January 1998, the school is led by Rachael Tiffany, a trained dancer with a Bachelor of Philosophy (Honours) degree and qualifications from the Royal Academy of Dance (RAD).

At The Tiffany School of Dance, the goal is to inspire a love for dance in each student, especially in classical ballet. Rachael takes pride in upholding the high technical and artistic standards of the RAD, and students have the opportunity to be entered for RAD examinations, which are recognised worldwide. The school also teaches ISTD Modern and Tap, as well as Street Dance and Progressing Ballet Technique.

Classes are available for children from the age of 2. Ballet classes follow the syllabus of the RAD, starting with Pre-School Dance and progressing to Grade 8. Exams are conducted three times a year, and students are entered when they are deemed ready by their teacher. In addition to regular ballet grades, vocational classes and Pointe work are available for interested students.

Repertoire classes have also been introduced, where students learn and perform choreography from well-known ballets.

The Tiffany School of Dance offers Modern & Jazz classes following the syllabus of the International Society of Teachers of Dance (ISTD), as well as Tap classes. Children can start these classes at the age of 5, and there is also a thriving Adults Tap class for dancers of all abilities. Additionally, Street Dance/Hip Hop classes are available for students aged 8 and over.

The school prides itself on their excellent exam results and holds a highly-anticipated show every two years, with all students over the age of 3 participating. There are also opportunities for students to perform at garden fetes, summer school shows, and other professional performances.

For older learners, The Tiffany School of Dance offers Silver Swans ballet classes. These classes are designed to improve posture, coordination, mobility, and energy levels.
