Straining in my classes. It is all about listening to your body, honouring its limits, and finding balance within yourself.
The yoga hut, located in Colyton, offers a cosy and intimate environment perfect for personalised instruction in yoga. The classes are designed to cater to small groups, ensuring that each student receives individual attention and guidance. This allows the instructor, Jayne, to focus on correct alignment of the body and offer modifications to deepen or lighten the postures according to the needs of each student.
Jayne's teaching style encourages students to explore their own yoga practise, gently releasing and opening the body with the use of the breath. The sessions consist of a combination of asanas (postures), pranayama (breathing techniques), meditation, and savasana (relaxation). Students are encouraged to bring their own equipment, but the yoga hut also provides mats, blocks, bricks, belts, bolsters, blankets, and eye pillows if required.
Jayne is a highly qualified instructor, trained with the British Wheel of Yoga and holding a BWYQ 500-hour diploma. She is also a BWY Foundation Course Tutor. Jayne's passion for yoga is evident in her teaching, and she believes in yoga as a holistic practise that can transform the body, mind, and spirit. She has personally experienced the life-changing effects of yoga and is dedicated to sharing its benefits with others in a safe and respectful manner.
In addition to regular yoga classes, Jayne also offers a weekly Yin Yoga class and seasonal Yin Yoga workshops. She is a qualified Yin Yoga teacher and explores aspects of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) and how to nourish our meridians with the changing seasons. Jayne is also a Reiki healer, offering in-person and remote Reiki healing sessions. She has attended Ashram and silent meditation retreats, further deepening her understanding and practise of yoga.
Jayne specialises in Hatha yoga, incorporating elements of Raja Yoga (royal) and Bhakti (devotional) chanting into her teachings. The emphasis in her classes is on the breath, with a focus on relearning how to breathe to bring the body and mind into a relaxed and harmonious state. Jayne weaves the philosophy of yoga into her lessons, drawing inspiration from Vedic and Vedantic texts such as The Bhagavad Gita, The Upanishads, The Yoga Sutras of Patanjali, and Hatha Yoga Pradipika.
At the yoga hut, there is no forcing or pushing. It is a space where participants are encouraged to listen to their bodies and find their own pace. Jayne ensures that her classes create a nurturing and supportive environment, allowing students to stretch and relax into their postures and optimise their overall well-being by activating the parasympathetic nervous system.
Whether you are a beginner looking to start your yoga journey or a seasoned practitioner wanting to deepen your practise, the yoga hut welcomes you to join their intimate and transformative classes. Embark on a journey of self-discovery and holistic well-being at the yoga hut in Colyton.
