“The Yoga Social” in Dunfermline is a welcoming and friendly yoga studio that aims to create a sense of connexion and community among its members. Founded in 2017 by Lisa Mulube, the studio offers a range of yoga classes and therapeutic practises to suit all levels and bodies.
One of the key philosophies at The Yoga Social is that yoga is for everyone, regardless of age, size, race, gender, or flexibility. The studio believes that yoga is a life skill that should be accessible to all, and strives to create an inclusive and supportive environment for all practitioners.
Lisa Mulube, the founder and lead teacher at The Yoga Social, has over 20 years of experience in practising yoga and credits it with bringing immense benefits to her own life. She completed her teacher training in 2016 and is qualified in Hatha Yoga, Yin & Restorative Yoga, Perinatal Yoga, and Kids & Family Yoga. Lisa brings together her extensive knowledge and training to create classes that cater to all levels and bodies.
In 2021, Lisa enhanced her expertise by undertaking a 580 Hour Yoga Therapy Diploma with The Minded Institute in London, receiving her final diploma certificate in November 2023 after completing her dissertation and final case studies with top marks. This training has further deepened her understanding of the therapeutic benefits of yoga and has allowed her to offer personalised sessions and support through Yoga Therapy.
The classes at The Yoga Social encompass various styles of yoga, including Hatha Yoga, Yin & Restorative Yoga, Yoga Nidra, Chair Yoga, and Meditation. These practises aim to bring balance, relaxation, and mindfulness to the participants, promoting a union between body and mind.
In addition to regular classes, The Yoga Social also offers private sessions for individuals and groups, and collaborates with local community groups to spread the benefits of yoga. Lisa is a registered teacher with Yoga Scotland and Yoga Alliance International, as well as a registered Yoga Therapist with BCYT and NCIP.
The Yoga Social has adapted to the challenges of the pandemic by offering online classes to maintain a sense of community and connexion. With a focus on small class sizes, the studio provides a more tailored approach to teaching and ensures that all participants receive individual attention and guidance.
