Tiger Wests Little Athletics, Sydney's premier Little Athletics club, is gearing up for an exciting event that you won't want to miss! Our weekly athletics competition, held at the Athletics Oval in Wyatt Park Auburn, promises an action-packed evening every Friday from September through to March.
Registration for the upcoming 2023/24 season is now open, so make sure to secure your spot and be a part of the Tiger Wests family. Located in Auburn, our club attracts families from surrounding suburbs like Lidcombe, Newington, Sydney Olympic Park, Wentworth Point, and more.
Whether your child is 4 or 17 years old, our program is designed to cater to boys and girls of all ages and abilities. We believe in nurturing a friendly and supportive environment where your child can thrive and be their best. The emphasis is not just on competition, but also on personal growth and improvement.
When it comes to activities, we've got you covered! From modified running, jumping, and throwing events to suit the age of the athletes, we ensure that there's something for everyone. Each Friday night, participants have the opportunity to compete in 4–6 events and focus on their personal development.
But it's not all about the competition. At Tiger Wests, we understand the importance of camaraderie and friendship. After the events, families and friends can relax and enjoy a delicious sausage sizzle BBQ and refreshing drinks. It's the perfect way to end a thrilling evening!
Our track events range from sprints of 50m to 400m, as well as distance events from 300m to 3000m. For our older athletes aged 8 and above, we offer hurdles as well. In terms of field events, we have it all – long jump, high jump, triple jump, shot put, discus, and javelin. Each event is tailored to suit different age groups and weight requirements.
For our standout athletes, there's even the opportunity to represent Tiger Wests at the Inner City Zone championships, with the chance to advance to the Regional and State Championships. At the end of the season, we hold club championships to determine the best athletes in each age group, and we celebrate their achievements with awards and recognition.
We strongly encourage parental involvement, whether it's as volunteer helpers or officials. At Tiger Wests, we value the support of our dedicated parents and celebrate their contributions to the success of our club.
