Tiger Taekwon-Do

Mike Lowe is my name Ko Taekwon-Do taku iwi Taekwon-Do is my passion Ko papakinga Te Rangimrie Ito. The Rangimrie Ito Dojang is my training place. From a young age, I have been dedicated to the study and practise of Taekwon-Do. I hold a 6th Degree Black Belt and have over 30 years of experience in the martial art.

At Tiger Taekwon-Do, we pride ourselves on creating a welcoming and inclusive environment for all ages and abilities. We offer classes for kids starting from the age of 4, as well as classes for older kids and adults. Our Taekwon-Do programmes are designed to not only improve physical fitness, coordination, and concentration but also to develop important life skills such as self-esteem and confidence.

Our classes follow the national grading curriculum, allowing our members to progress through the different belt levels and showcase their skills at regular grading opportunities. For those with a competitive spirit, we also provide opportunities to compete at regional, national, and international levels.

We are affiliated with the International Taekwon-Do Foundation of New Zealand Inc (ITKD), which is a network of over 50 schools nationwide. This affiliation ensures that we adhere to the teachings and principles of international Taekwon-Do as established by General Choi Hong Hi, the founder of Taekwon-Do.

At Tiger Taekwon-Do, we believe in the values of courtesy, integrity, perseverance, self-control, and indomitable spirit, as outlined in the Tenets of Taekwon-Do. We strive to instil these values in our konga (students) and provide a safe and supportive environment for their growth and development.

Our instructor, Mike Lowe, is not only a highly skilled martial artist but also a passionate educator. As a relief teacher at Palmerston North Boys High School, he brings his teaching expertise to the Taekwon-Do classes, ensuring that every student receives proper guidance and support.
