Welcome to Ting Shen Kung Fu Temple, located in London, Ontario. Our school specializes in Northern Shaolin Seven Star Praying Mantis Kung Fu, a dynamic and effective fighting system that incorporates both hard and soft energies to develop inner strength known as Chi. Through authentic Chinese exercises that have been passed down for generations, we aim to cultivate strength, flexibility, discipline, and self-awareness in our students.
At Ting Shen Kung Fu Temple, we place a strong emphasis on the philosophies, history, principles, and education of Kung Fu, while striving to attain the highest virtues. Students will have the opportunity to learn empty hand forms, weaponry, and Chin-Na, which is the art of seizing and grappling, including joint locks, holds, escapes, pressure points, submissions, and throws. Forms, which are a series of movements strung together in sequence, are a vital part of our training program as they offer many benefits ranging from improving health to self-defence applications.
Our classes are designed to challenge practitioners both mentally and physically, with exercises conducted in groups, pairs, and individually. While heavy contact is not a focus in our classes, students will still have the opportunity to hone their skills and techniques in a safe and controlled environment. Our schedule includes classes on Monday and Thursday evenings, and our location is at 1106 Dearness Dr. Unit 5b in London.
Led by Sifu Derek Wu, our experienced instructors are committed to providing quality training to all students, regardless of their martial arts experience. New members are always welcome, and the first week of classes is free. Additionally, the first month of training is only $30, making it accessible for those interested in exploring the world of Kung Fu.
