Led by the experienced Chief Instructor, Gursharan Sahota, TISKA Karate Wembley provides a supportive and disciplined environment for students to develop balance, coordination, self-confidence, and discipline. Gursharan Sahota himself is an accomplished martial artist, having achieved an 8th Dan in Karate. He has competed in numerous national and international events, including kata and kumite competitions.
Gursharan Sahota's dedication to Karate has led him to open his first club in Luton/Dunstable in 1981, which has since become the association's headquarters. In 1993, he formed his own association, TISKA (The Traditional International Shotokan Karate Association), which has grown to become one of the largest associations in the UK. Gursharan Sahota's passion for Karate is evident as he continues to teach over 35 classes per week in the UK and conducts master classes internationally.
Apart from his involvement in Karate, Gursharan Sahota is also committed to giving back to the community. He is actively involved in charity work, including subsidising trips for surgeons to third-world countries to operate on underprivileged children. He has also funded various projects in India and is currently supporting the construction of a new school.
