Toronto Dojo of Canada Shotokan Karate, under the leadership of Sensei Ryon Richards, Sandan, is a prestigious karate school located in Toronto. Sensei Ryon Richards is a direct student of Sensei Errol Bennet and has achieved numerous accolades in his karate career, including first place in Individual Kumite and second place in Team Kumite at the Israel Shotokan 40th Anniversary Competition in 2010.
The Toronto Dojo is affiliated with Canada Shotokan Karate (CSK), a non-profit organization dedicated to teaching karate as a martial art and a way of life. CSK is an affiliate of Shotokan Karate of America (SKA), founded by Tsutomu Ohshima in 1955. The school offers classes that incorporate traditional martial art training, fighting practice, and self-defence techniques.
Classes at the Toronto Dojo cover three core aspects of karate training: Basics (including blocks, strikes, and evasions), Forms, and Sparring. The cost for training at the Toronto Dojo is $75 per month, and newcomers are encouraged to try out a free class.
