York RI RFC, the Rugby Union club in York, is excited to announce the launch of its summer Touch Rugby training sessions. And the best part? It's completely free to join!
If you've always been intrigued by the sport but never had the chance to get involved, Touch Rugby is the perfect introduction. It's a game that welcomes everyone, no matter their gender identity, ability, or knowledge of the game. So whether you're a seasoned pro or a complete newbie, everyone is encouraged to come along and give it a go.
The training sessions will focus on the basics of rugby and provide a contact-free environment for players to learn and have fun. We believe in an inclusive ethos at York RI RFC, and our aim is to attract new members from all backgrounds and abilities.
Andy McCarthy, the Chair of York RI RUFC, shares his enthusiasm for the sport, saying, “Touch Rugby is a great way to make the most of those long summer evenings. It's a social game that allows players of any experience level to get involved, learn new skills, and stay fit. The training sessions will be held on Thursday evenings throughout the summer at New Lane, YO24 4NX. So mark your calendars and get ready for some rugby action!
