About
Touchdown Dance, led by Katy Dymoke, is an outstanding dance company based in Sale, UK. Since 1986, Touchdown Dance has been committed to bringing the joy of dance to people of all ages and abilities, with a special focus on visually impaired and sighted individuals.
Founded by Steve Paxton and Anne Kilcoyne at Dartington College of Arts, and relocated to the North West in 1994, Touchdown Dance has grown to offer exceptional, accessible performances and workshops.
Their innovative workshops centre on contact improvisation for those with visual impairments, providing a unique, engaging experience in a supportive environment. They also offer customised workshops for arts organisations, care centres, and health education groups.
Touchdown Dance tours globally, collaborating with both disability rights organisations and mainstream dance theatre groups. They aim to challenge societal norms and show that everyone can experience the transformative power of movement.
The impact on participants is profound, with glowing testimonials from pupils at St. Vincent's School for Sensory Impaired and Hollinwood Academy, as well as workshop attendees like Maya.
