Tai Chi, a form of martial arts, can be practised as a gentle exercise for health and relaxation. With roots in Chinese medicine that date back over 2000 years, Tai Chi offers numerous benefits, including improved balance, co-ordination, posture, and stamina. Research has shown that practising Tai Chi can have a positive impact on overall well-being.
Classes are conveniently held in various locations throughout Glasgow, including the city centre, Knightswood, Paisley, Helensburgh, Cambuslang, Hamilton, Barrhead, and Rutherglen. The diverse range of class locations allows students to find a class that suits their schedule and locality. The classes cater to individuals of all levels, whether they are beginners or advanced practitioners. Each class incorporates Qigong practise, a form of holistic exercise that focuses on breathing techniques, as well as Tai Chi forms.
While the main focus of most classes is on promoting health and relaxation, instructors are also skilled in teaching self-defence techniques for those interested in the martial arts aspect of Tai Chi.
The instructors at Traditional Chinese Wu Shu are highly qualified and experienced. The Chief Instructor, Derek Daly, along with Senior Instructor Liz McIver and Instructor Debbie Hamilton, are all registered with the BCCMA and insured, ensuring that students receive top-quality training in a safe environment.
